Ce 2015 is the year of 4K. tv set makers have finally ditched the doohickey and are plainly pumping out big , beautiful television that produce bad , beautiful persona . We ’re back to TV 101 : Make the picture better and make it low-priced . This is good ! But where LG , Samsung , Sharp , Sony , and others surpass at all that quantum Zen , pixel splitting , color gamut hooey , their “ sassy ” television set software draw . It ’s so speculative in fact , that we ’re really shocked when we see anew goggle box OS that is n’t dread .
Some companies have seen the Light Within this year . SharpandSonyare giving up the ghost and letting Google ’s Android TV be the brains for their brawny LED bodies . Panasonic isadding Firefox OS to its 4 special K batting order . That ’s dandy ! Google knows software program . Mozilla too . Sharp and Panasonic do n’t . So have ’s find some s y n e r g y.
And frankly , why not take it even further ? Android idiot box might be better than Tizen or webOS or whatever other janky TV software people are rolling out right now , but all still find like just a middle ground . late inquiry read that multitude who do connect their TVs to the internethardly use internet - ground feature article at all . The word “ dense ” is n’t a pejorative with television system . In fact , even without any software , all these sets at CES are very , very , smart , with technology inside that squeezes out every possible inch of performance on their light-emitting diode or OLED video display . sum the fact that you ’re paying a premium for this pre - loaded computer software , and buying a smart telly becomes even less appetising . I ’d rather put that moneytowards a Roku .
But I have promise . If the television industry as a collective whole can realize the futility of one dazed 3D TV gimmick , maybe at CES 2016 , they ’ll rectify the ship even more .
