In a heartbeat , it could bounce between a glare - free pitch-black and white readable projection screen and a vibrant LCD offering . Well , some of us are , anyway . Amazon , though ? It manifestly decided to just take topic into its own helping hand .
The patent above may not look like much , but do n’t let the mirror - mirror action fool you . What Amazon ’s proposing is n’t one showing that switches back and forth , but rather a tablet ( or any other gadget ) that has a front LCD display and a rear einsteinium - ink ( or corresponding ) display . The tablet would know which one to plain into paraphernalia based on how you were hold it , and either side could be touch - raw . It ’s like Janus , the two - head Greek divinity of transition . Or , if you rather , a mullet .
As exciting as the scene of a tablet that ’s equally up to in the sun and the shade might be , let ’s not get our hope up quite yet . The letters patent was applied for back in February of 2011 , which does n’t give a raft of prison term for it to have become a material affair in time forAmazon ’s Kindle announcementnext workweek .
