In the township of Niigata , you’re able to visit the remains of The Russian Village , a shuttered tourist attraction that once vaunt such visual modality as a recreation ofthe Cathedral of the Nativity in Suzdal , Russia , phony cars from the Trans - Siberian Railroad , and ( what is likely ) a woolly gigantic skeleton , hanging out in the eye of nowhere .
When the Niigata Russian Village opened in 1993 , an enterpriser hoped to attract tourist dollars by importing a small slice of Russia to Japan ’s west coast . This Russocentric Epcot Center managed to stay open for a decennium before the park fell into bankruptcy . After another luxurious opening in 2002 — that lasted all of six months — the Village was closed permanently , leaving such weird artifact as a fake taxidermied woolly gigantic behind .
From the looks of these picture takenby Ralph Mirebs , plenty of masses still bring down the Village , but nobody pays the submission fee ( such asVice Magazine , who regain employee ’ costume up for grabs ) . I do n’t know about you , but I findfacsimile villageslike this pretty captivating . Cloning geographics , for play and proft .
