The first thing that come out in my nous when I saw these bikes were the Spy vs. Spy characters in MAD Magazine … y’know , ’cause of the angulate headlight and the black and lily-white people of color scheme … Yes , I ’m a dork . Let ’s move on .

Despite my uncanny imagination , this ENV motorbike by Intelligent Energy does look somewhat recoil - ass . It ’s sleek , streamlined , and since it ’s made from aircraft - grad aluminium , only weighs about 176 lb . But that ’s not what cool about it — it ’s the world ’s first fuel cell motorcycle . Each cycle runs on a single 1kw hydrogen fuel cell generator , which they ’ve dubbed the Core . It supply king on - demand and is pair up with a battery face pack for a hybrid jazz group that boosts the performance up to 6kw . The Core is even detachable , and has the power to power up motoroboats and modest houses ( ! ! ) . Fully filled , this thing can accelerate along up to 4 hours and can go as fast as 50 mph . And since they execute on fuel cellular telephone technology , that mean clean emissions , a quieter ride , and no need for “ rider skills ” — there are no gears , just urge on the throttle and away you go .

It ’ll be commercially usable some meter in 2006 and will be about $ 6,000 .
