“ For a company to hire a trans person and then not publically place upright by them is worse in my vox populi than not hiring a trans person at all , because it gives customers permission to be as transphobic and mean as they want , ” Mulvaney say in the video . “ And the hate does n’t terminate with me , it has serious and sedate consequences for the eternal rest of our community , ” she added .
Brendan Whitworth , the CEO of Anheuser - Busch , toldCBS Newson Wednesday that “ Bud Light has supported LGBTQ since 1998 , so that ’s 25 years , and as we ’ve said from the start we ’ll continue to endorse the communities and organization that we ’ve supported for decades . ”
Since its collaboration with Mulvaney , Bud Light ’s sales dropped by 23 % last calendar month compared to the same period in 2022 , take away the company from its number one spot as the res publica ’s well - sell beer . Its decision to work with Mulvaney was met with outrage among conservative , including singers Kid Rock and Travis Tritt , who publicly call for the nation to boycott Bud Light .

“ I think the conversation surrounding Bud Light has move by from beer , and the conversation has become divisive , and Bud Light really does not belong there , Bud Light should be about bringing masses together , ” Whitworth told CBS .
Mulvaney come along to handle Whitworth ’s statement , enounce in her video : “ Supporting trans people , it should n’t be political . ” She continued , “ There should be nothing controversial or divisive about working with us , and I hump it ’s possible because I ’ve worked with some fantastical company who care . But caring about the LGBTQ+ biotic community requires a lot more than just a donation somewhere during Pride calendar month . ”
Anheuser - Busch did not immediately answer to Gizmodo ’s asking for commentary , but a fellowship spokesperson toldCNN : “ We remain attached to the programme and partnerships we have forged over decades with organization across a bit of communities , include those in the LGBTQ+ community . The privacy and safety of our employee and our partners is always our top precedence . As we move forward , we will focus on what we do best — brewing bang-up beer for everyone and garner our place in moments that matter to our consumer . ”
