Crystal Watersis back — and she wants you to get up and “Dance Dance Dance.”

On Thursday, PEOPLE is exclusively premiering Waters' catchy track “Dance Dance Dance.” Waters — who plans to release more singles in the near future — tells PEOPLE she chose the song because it was the first she wrote after COVID-19 lockdowns.

“Its uplifting and embodies the feeling of just wanting to get out and have a good time,” Waters, 61, says.

In “Dance Dance Dance,” Waters stays true to her roots in house music.

“You make me want to dance dance dance / I wanna dance ‘till after midnight / Make sweet love ‘till sunrise,” she sings on the upbeat track.

“It feels great to be in the spotlight again. I was a bit hesitant at first but everyone has welcomed me with open arms,” the “Gypsy Woman” singer says.

She continues, “Everyone I speak to has a wonderful memory or story about my songs and my music. The love and appreciation I’m receiving is beyond what I expected.”

Waters, who is best known for songs “Gypsy Woman,” “100% Pure Love,” “Destination Unknown” and “In Da Ghetto,” has released three studio albums throughout her career:Surprise,Storyteller— which was RIAA-certified gold — and a self-titled album.

She currently has five shows left on herRadiance tour, though is expected to add more after the release of “Dance Dance Dance” on Friday.
