Stephen “tWitch” Boss’s motherConnie Boss Alexanderis remembering her late son on the day before the first anniversary of his death.

“A year ago today,” shecaptioned a montagefilled with pictures and videos of their favorite moments together. “You sent your last I love you’s, your final check-ins and closed your eyes in this earthly realm and awoke with all the ancestors in the presence of God.”

“My first born [sic], my first heartbeat,” Connie continued, recalling the “little smirk” he would make whenever she called him “my BooBoo.”

“My beautiful son, Stephen Laurel Boss, I miss you beyond words and love you through eternity.#LLSLB09/29/82-12/12/22🕊️♾️❤️💙🙏🏽,” she concluded.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us,” his wifeAllison Holker Bossconfirmed in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE at the time. “Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”

Last week, Allison, 35, celebrated what would have been her10th wedding anniversarywith her late husband.

In December 2013,the dancer couple got marriedatSo You Think You Can Dancecreator Nigel Lythgoe’s Villa San-Juliette Vineyard & Winery in Paso Robles, Calif. Paying tribute to their dancing roots, the two performed a hip-hop-inspired dance routine toJustin Bieber’s hit “Somebody to Love” alongside Allison’s daughter Weslie during their wedding celebration.

In a heartfelt tribute shared to Instagram, the choreographer opened up about having felt love and loss.
